Judge Amanda Ade-Harlow of rural Moweaqua has announced her run for the position of Resident Circuit Judge of Shelby County. The vacancy was created with the passing of the Honorable Allen F. Bennett.
Judge Ade-Harlow is currently an Associate Judge in the 4th Judicial Circuit which includes Shelby County. She previously held the position of Shelby County Pubic Defender, serving as the first full-time public defender in Shelby County. She has also served as an Assistant State's Attorney in both Shelby and Fayette Counties in addition to her general law practice in the areas of family, criminal defense, municipal law, personal injury and medical malpractice.
The General Primary will be held on March 20, 2018 followed by the general election on November 6, 2018.
Judge Ade-Harlow is running unopposed in the Republican primary.
